Today is one of THOSE days…

12 Mar

My car has developed a habit of, well, stopping. And not when I apply the break. Just whenever it feels the need. It stops. This is not okay.

My furnace, however, has the exact opposite problem. It does not stop. Ever. Not when you turn it off, not when you swear at it, not ever. This is not okay.

My contact emerged from its saline-solution home torn in half. I only had one left in the package. This leaves me with only the contact I have in my eye. Should it jump out and rip itself in half, I will be blind. I do not own sufficient glasses. This is not okay.

Easily solved problems right?

Dropped the car off at the shop.  Need to me to give them everything I’m worth to fix car. Assured me car will break down again in the coming months. They will need me to give them everything Zac is worth to fix that problem. Going car shopping tonight.

Called the landlord to holler about the furnace. He’s out of town. Need to call the handyman Friday at noon. Friday at noon rolls around. Cell phone malfunctions. Shuts off. Wants to join the likes of the car. Handyman’s phone number resides in the malfunctioning cell phone. Furnance will continue to run.

Called Sears Optical. Asked for estimate on eye appointment, contacts and glasses. More money than I care to spend. Still need to see. Made appointment. Only available appointment at same time as Saturday’s St. Patty’s day parade. Had planned to get my drink on. Plan foiled.

Debating canceling eye appointment to attend parade anyway. I’m only Irish once a year. May have heatstroke due to running furnace by then.

Hosting beach party at our place Friday night. Come in your favorite bathing suit, its 90 degrees in our house, you’ll be comfortable. I’ll  make margaritas. I won’t be able to see how much tequila I put in though. No need to take my keys, my car won’t let me go anywhere.
